AGUJERO AZUL (BLUE HOLE)

It is one of the most famous dives in Puerto del Carmen, due to the adventure component it offers. The Agujero Azul (Blue Hole) is a tunnel that connects the sandy area with a cliff that goes down to an incredible depth.

During this dive you will be able to see all kinds of animals such as, for example, sea horses hidden in between the headlands of the bottom, angel sharks and large stingrays or majestic manta rays; a unique experience that some have been lucky to enjoy. It is undoubtedly an immersion that is worth repeating.

The most common way to do this dive is from land: entering from the stairs of the little pier at Playa Chica beach you go all over the shallow area which is always full of fish shoals. From there, you will descend through the bigunderwater dunes, crossing the field of gardenereels, until you get to the entrance of the Blue Hole where you will find a smallshort burriel charming tunnel. You will enter through the sandy area and go out into open water. Along the cliff, there are several interesting caves and cavities in which you can look for sea life, and you will find swarms of narval shrimp, a small orange coral and a great variety of fish. This is also an ideal spot to observe pelagicso it is better not to lose sight of the deep blue.
